IM-0192 TITLE IMPROVED SURFACES FOR X-RAY INTENSIFYING SCREENS ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION X-ray intensifying screens that can be conveniently and easily used in book cassettes and automatic changer systems are described. These screens have an improved surface made by bonding a thin, clear, transparent, tough, flexible, dimensionally stable polyamide film thereon. The screens display a very low average dynamic coefficient of friction, very good resistance to wear (e.g., gouging and abrasion) and a low static susceptibility which permits long term use in book cassettes and rapid handling incurred in said changer systems.
