Surfactant-containing acetoacetoxy-functional polymers (SAAPs) are described. The acetoacetoxy-functional polymer may be a surfactant-containing enamine- functional polymer and more preferably a surfactant-containing, polymeric (polyamino)enamine (PPAE). The PPAE is the reaction product of a surfactant- containing acetoacetoxy-functional polymer (SAAP) and a poly(alkylenimine). The polymers may be prepared as waterborne polymer compositions, such as latexes. The waterborne polymer compositions can be prepared with high solids content while maintaining low viscosity. Waterborne polymer compositions containing the polymers of the inventions are useful in a variety of coating formulations such as, for example, paints, inks, sealants, and adhesives. When used in coating formulations, the polymers of the invention provide adhesion and crosslinking in the final film or coating. The film or coating may be cured at ambient temperatures or may be thermally cured.
L'invention porte sur des polymères à fonction acétoacétoxy (SAAP) contenant des tensio-actifs. Lesdits polymères peuvent être du type à fonction énamine contenant des tensio-actifs ou mieux du type polymérique(polyamino)énamine contenant des tensio-actifs (PPAE). Le PPAE est un produit de réaction d'un SAAP et d'un poly(alkylénémine). Lesdits polymères peuvent se préparer sous forme de compositions aqueuses analogues aux latex. Lesdites compositions aqueuses peuvent présenter une forte teneur en solides tout en conservant une faible viscosité. Les compositions aqueuses de polymères comportant les polymères de l'invention peuvent entrer dans la composition de différents produits pour revêtements tels que des peintures, des encres, des mastics ou des adhésifs. Lorsqu'ils sont utilisés dans des produits pour revêtements, les polymères de l'invention assurent l'adhérence et la réticulation du film ou du revêtement final. Le film ou le revêtement peuvent durcir à la température ambiante ou thermiquement.
