ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Biological slime buildup on the heat transfer surfaces of industrial cooling equipment can be dispersed and prevented by treating the water used in such systems with a few ppm of certain propylene oxide-- ethylene oxide polymers. These polymers may be used in conjunction with such well known biocides as chlorine.
