ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A surge arrester assembly having electrodes provided with external cup-shaped recesses each receiving by push fit or screw connection a cylindrical rolled portion of a metal strip contact. A two-stage arrester has a circular central electrode embraced by push-fit by a circular metal strip contact. The assembly may be secured by screw-connections to the strip contacts.
