A surgical cable system and method for securing surgical cable around a portion of a human element (e.g., bone) is described. The surgical cable system may include a connector (200) and a tensioner (50). The connector may be adapted to hold a pin (204), positionable within the connector, such that the pin may secure the cable within the connector. The pin may be repositioned, after securing the cable, to allow the cable to move freely through the connector. The cable may be oriented within the connector such that the ends of the cable are perpendicular or parallel with respect to each other. The tensioner is preferably adapted to vary the tension of the cable. The cable may be passed through the connector, around a portion of a human bone, and back through the connector. The cable may be tensioned by use of the tensioner and secured into position within the connector. The connector may include a locking portion (206, 208, 210) for engaging a protrusion (211) formed on the pin. The engagement of the protrusion with the locking portion preferably inhibits rotation of the pin.
L'invention porte sur un procédé et un système de câble chirurgical permettant de fixer un câble autour d'un partie d'un membre (tel qu'un os) d'un patient. Ce système de câble comporte un connecteur (200) et un tensionneur (50). Le connecteur peut être adapté pour maintenir une broche, pouvant se positionner dans le connecteur, de sorte qu'elle puisse fixer le câble dans le connecteur. Après fixation du câble, la broche peut être repositionnée pour permettre au câble de se déplacer librement dans le connecteur. Le câble peut être orienté dans le connecteur de sorte que ses extrémités soient perpendiculaires ou parallèles entre elles. Le tensionneur est de préférence adapté pour faire varier la tension du câble. Le câble peut être passé dans le connecteur de façon à entourer une partie d'un os et à revenir dans le connecteur. Le câble peut être tendu au moyen du tensionneur et fixé dans le connecteur. Le connecteur peut comporter une partie de blocage (206, 208, 210) de façon à venir en contact avec une partie saillante (211) formée sur la broche, le contact de la partie saillante et de la partie de blocage empêchant la broche de tourner.
