A cassette (500) for use in combination with a surgical handpiece (10) and a control console (501) for controlling irrigation and/or aspiration fluid flows in the handpiece (10) having a housing (502) with an external surface and an interface (504) adapted to be held in operative association with the control console (501), an inlet coupling (506), a pump tube (518) having an inlet (512) and a discharge line (522) in fluid communication with a waste container (118) and a fluid flow passage (514) in fluid communication with the inlet coupling (506) and the pump inlet (512) consisting of an open channel formed in the external surface and a gasket (136) adhered to the external surface to seal the channel fluid-tight.

Cassette (500) à utiliser en combinaison avec une pièce à main de chirurgie (10) et une console de commande (501) pour réguler les écoulements de liquides d'irrigation et/ou d'aspiration dans la pièce à main (10). Elle comporte un boîtier (502) muni d'une surface externe et d'une interface (504) adaptées pour fonctionner avec la console (501). La cassette comprend également un raccord d'entrée (506), un tube de pompe (518) doté d'une entrée (512) et d'un conduit d'évacuation (522) en communication continue avec un contenant à déchets (118) et d'un conduit d'écoulement de liquide (514) en communication continue avec le raccord d'entrée (506) et l'entrée de la pompe (512) constituée d'un conduit ouvert formé dans la surface externe. Un joint d'étanchéité (136) adhère à la surface externe pour sceller le conduit.
