A surgical clip(10) includes a U-shaped configuration with first and second arms (12,14), and a bridge portion (16) therebetween. The first arm (12) is provided with a tip (20) preferably having a catch (28,29), and the second arm (14) extends into a deformable retainer (22) having a tissue-piercing end (24) and preferably also a hook (30). During application, tissue is clamped, and the clip is forced over the clamped tissue and the retainer of the second arm is bent and may be pierced through the tissue. The retainer is toward and around or adjacent the tip of the first arm preferably until the hook is engaged about the catch to secure the clip to the tissue and prevent the clip and tissue from separating. The clip is provided with structure that facilitates the stacking of a plurality of clips in a clip chamber of a clip applier.
Selon la présente invention, une agrafe chirurgicale comprend une configuration en forme de U présentant un premier et un second bras, et une partie de pont les reliant. Le premier bras présente un bout possédant de préférence un dispositif à crans d'arrêt, et le second bras s'étend dans un dispositif de retenue déformable présentant une extrémité de perçage du tissu ainsi que de préférence, un crochet. Durant l'application, le tissu est serré et l'agrafe est maintenue sur le tissu serré et le dispositif de retenue du second bras est plié et peut être amené à traverser le tissu. Le dispositif de retenue se trouve en direction et près du ou adjacent au bout du premier bras de préférence jusqu'à ce que le crochet vienne au contact du dispositif à crans d'arrêt pour fixer l'agrafe au tissu et pour empêcher la séparation de l'agrafe et du tissu. L'agrafe présente d'une structure qui facilite l'empilement d'une pluralité d'agrafes dans un compartiment à agrafes d'un applicateur d'agrafes.
