A cutting device (10) for the cutting and reduction of matter from a surgical site having a cutting head (16) having an entry tip (28) and a cutting blade (22) positioned on opposed leading edges of a window (20) formed through the interior of the cutting head (16). The window (20) includes angled walls (26) extending from each cutting blade (22) along the circumference of the window (20). The cutting heads (16) is attached to a shaft (14) for mounting the cutting device to a rotary surgical drill. The matter is removed and further reduced as the cutting head (16) is rotated at the surgical site. The main shaft (14) also includes depth markings (18) for identifying the depth of the device in the surgical site. The geometry of the cutting head (16) and entry tip (28) can be varied for particular surgical procedures.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de coupe (10) pour couper et réduire de la matière à partir d'un site chirurgical. Ce dispositif comporte une tête de coupe (16) pourvue d'une pointe d'entrée (28) et d'une lame de coupe (22) positionnée sur les bords de tête opposés d'une fenêtre (20) ménagée dans l'intérieur de la tête de coupe (16). La fenêtre (20) comprend des parois en angle (26) s'étendant à partir de chaque lame de coupe (22) le long de la circonférence de la fenêtre (20). La tête de coupe (16) est fixée à un axe (14) prévu pour fixer le dispositif de coupe à un foret chirurgical rotatif. La matière est retirée puis réduite lors de la rotation de la tête de coupe (16) au niveau du site chirurgical. L'axe principal (14) comprend également des traits de repère de profondeur (18) permettant d'identifier la profondeur du dispositif dans le site chirurgical. La géométrie de la tête de coupe (16) et la pointe d'entrée (28) peuvent varier en fonction des actes chirurgicaux spécifiques.
