ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE A surgical device for accurate sampling of the uterine endometrium comprises a tubular sleeve, a piston which is longer than the sleeve and which slides within the sleeve and means for obtaining an endometrial sample at one end of the piston. The device is made of plastics with properties such that the sampling means can deform to be received within the sleeve and on, removal from the sleeve restores itself to its original shape.
