A surgical device for removing a foreign object from a body along with a method for manufacturing the surgical device and a retrieval basket of the device are described. The retrieval basket is adapted for entrapping and retaining the object located in the body. The basket comprises a structure having a proximal end and a distal end. The structure is formed by a plurality of filaments fabricated from a single or several wires. The filaments extend from the proximal end towards the distal end. At least a part of the filaments are overlapped and/or interlaced so as to define a net, and thereby impart structural rigidity and dilatation ability to the basket when opened. The process of manufacturing the retrieval basket includes selecting at least one wire; weaving the basket from the wire by overlapping and/or interlacing the filaments so that to form a net at least in the vicinity of the distal end; and binding the filaments for forming a shape of the retrieval basket.
La présente invention se rapporte à un dispositif chirurgical permettant de retirer un objet étranger d'un corps, ainsi qu'à un procédé de fabrication de ce dispositif chirurgical et à un panier de récupération dudit dispositif. Ce panier de récupération est conçu pour piéger et retenir l'objet situé dans le corps. Ledit panier comporte une structure ayant une extrémité proximale et une extrémité distale. La structure est constituée d'une pluralité de filaments fabriqués à partir d'un ou de plusieurs fils métalliques. Les filaments s'étendent de l'extrémité proximale jusqu'à l'extrémité distale. Au moins une partie des filaments se recouvrent et/ou sont entrelacés de manière à définir un filet, et à conférer ainsi une rigidité structurelle et une capacité de dilatation au panier lorsque celui-ci est ouvert. Le procédé de fabrication du panier de récupération consiste à sélectionner au moins un fil métallique ; à tisser le panier à partir du fil métallique en superposant et/ou entrelaçant les filaments de manière à former un filet au moins au voisinage de l'extrémité distale ; et à lier les filaments de manière à constituer une forme de panier de récupération.
