A method for forming a surgical retrieval basket (10) includes cold forming a section of each of a plurality of axially extending wires (11) in a predetermined shape. Securing the wires together proximate the sections with a cavity defined between the sections of the plurality of the wires forms an enlarged portion of a surgical retrieval basket. The retrieval basket comprises a plurality of wires normally encased in a compact form within a sheath (18) whereupon displacement of the sheath to free a portion of the wires enables the wires to form an enlarged retrieval basket. The wires forming the retrieval basket are cold formed in a predetermined shape and are secured together in a predetermined fashion to define the retrieval basket.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de paniers d'extraction chirurgicaux (10) qui consiste à former à froid, selon une forme prédéterminée, une section de chaque élément d'une pluralité de fils métalliques (11) étirés le long d'un axe. Les fils métalliques sont fixés ensemble à proximité desdites sections et définissent ainsi une cavité comprise entre les sections de la pluralité de fils qui constitue une partie renflée du panier d'extraction chirurgical. Ledit panier d'extraction comporte une pluralité de fils métalliques normalement enfermés sous forme compacte à l'intérieur d'une gaine (18). Le déplacement de la gaine, qui libère une partie desdits fils métalliques, permet de former avec ceux-ci un panier d'extraction renflé. Les fils métalliques constituant le panier d'extraction sont formés à froid suivant une forme prédéterminée et sont fixés ensemble d'une manière prédéterminée en vue de former ledit panier d'extraction.
