A surgical stapling device for applying an array of surgical staples to tissue is provided. The stapling device includes an approximation mechanism for moving a cartridge assembly and an anvil assembly between spaced and approximated positions and a firing mechanism for ejecting the array of staples from the cartridge assembly. A single trigger is operable to effect approximation and firing of the device. The device also includes an alignment pin assembly which can be selectively manually or automatically advanced. The anvil assembly includes a stiffener plate which allows the device to have a reduced head portion profile.

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'agrafage chirurgical permettant d'appliquer un jeu d'agrafes chirurgicales sur un tissu. Ledit dispositif d'agrafage comprend un mécanisme d'approximation permettant de déplacer un ensemble cartouche et un ensemble enclume entre des positions espacées et approximatives, et un mécanisme de déclenchement permettant d'éjecter ledit jeu d'agrafes de l'ensemble cartouche. Il suffit d'un seul déclencheur pour effectuer l'approximation et le déclenchement du dispositif. Le dispositif comprend également un ensemble tige d'alignement pouvant avancer sélectivement manuellement et automatiquement. L'ensemble enclume comprend une plaque de renfort qui donne un profil de partie de tête réduit au dispositif.
