The present invention is a surgical extractor (10) for removing objects from a body, such as kidney stones and gall stones. The extractor includes a handle (11) at a proximal end (12) of the extractor with a slider (14) for operation by a physician. At the distal end (16) the extractor includes a plurality of wires (24) with each wire comprising a first portion having an individual strand (22), and a second portion (24) comprising a plurality of filaments. The use of such a basket promotes capture of objects within the body by having widely spaced wires in the first section, retention of such objects in the second section by multiplying the number of contacts with entrapped object, and improved selective release of such objects without any deleterious effect on the reliability or size of the extractor.
La présente invention concerne un extracteur chirurgical (10) destiné à retirer des objets d'un corps tels que les lithiases rénales et vésiculaires. L'extracteur comprend en son extrémité proximale (12) une poignée (11) pourvue d'un élément coulissant (14) en permettant la manipulation par un médecin. En son extrémité distale (16), l'extracteur comporte une pluralité de fils (24). Chaque fil est constitué, d'une première partie formant un seul toron (22) et d'une seconde partie (24) comprenant une pluralité de filaments. L'utilisation d'un tel panier favorise la saisie d'objets se trouvant dans le corps grâce au large espacement entre fils dans la première partie, favorise la retenue de tels objets dans la seconde partie grâce à la multiplicité des contacts avec l'objet ainsi piégé, et améliore la libération sélective de tels objets sans effet nuisible concernant la fiabilité ou le dimensionnement de l'extracteur.
