Abstract of the Disclosure A known suspension conveyor in which the driving force acts on casters of a carriage, employs a drive-transmitting member in the form of a rope received in a groove formed in the circumferential surface of respective casters. This system results in an unsatisfactory transmission of the driving force, so that considerable problems arise with regard to travel of the carriage over inclined track sections having an angle of inclination exceeding a certain magnitude. In addition the manufacture of the casters is rather complicated. The drive-transmitting assembly of the novel suspension conveyor comprises a resiliently deformable drag material having its rear side supported by a backup support. During drive-transmitting operation the drag material is compressed between the carriage and the drive-transmitting member to result in the exertion of a perpendicularly oriented force.
