A B S T R A C T A suspension device for a suspended ceiling, including a clip (2) having a central portion 23 and two divergent arms (21), each having a hole (22), so that when the arms are squeezed together the clip can be engaged on a support rod (1), the arms springing back and frictionally holding the clip on the rod (1). A resilient wire coupling element (3) has a head (33) which has a width B greater than the width of opening (24) in central portion (23) of the clip, the opening having a length enabling the head (33) to pass through when element (3) is tilted, whereby element (3) is retained on clip (2) when it hangs vertically. Lower end (32) of element (33) is used to engage suspended ceiling.
