The pivot bar is supported from the frame by a shock absorber (28) and a helical spring (30) so that impacts transferred to the frame through the wheelchair wheels (10, 12) are partially decoupled from the movement of the seat. The movement of the seat is constrained in a single plane along the longitudinal axis center line (CL) of the wheelchair.
