ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A suspension fork assembly for a bicycle having a frame includes at least one stanchion tube connected to the bicycle frame, at least one receiving tube connected to the bicycle frame and slidably encasing a first portion of the at least one stanchion tube, and at least one compressible system comprising a plurality of toroidal members externally disposed around a second portion of the at least one stanchion tube between the bicycle frame and the at least one receiving tube. In preferred embodiments, a polymeric bushing tube is disposed along the length of the receiving tube between the receiving tube and the first portion of the stanchion tube.
