ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improvement is proposed in the method for the suspen- sion polymerization of vinyl chloride in an aqueous medium con- taining a water-soluble suspending agent in the presence of a mo- nomer-soluble polymerization initiator, by which the polyvinyl chloride resin product is imparted with greatly improved plasticiz- er absorptivity and contains a greatly decreased amount of fish eyes. The improvement comprises introducing the monomer-solu- ble polymerization initiator introduced into the polymerization mixture in two portions, the first portion constituting from 50 to 90% by weight of the total amount of the two portions and being in- troduced into the polymerization mixture prior to the start of the polymerization reaction and the second portion constituting from 50 to 10% by weight of the total amount of the two portions and being introduced into the polymerization mixture at a moment when conversion of the monomer to polymer is in the range from 5 to 50%.
