ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improvement is proposed in the method for the suspen- sion polymerization of vinyl chloride, according to which the poly- vinyl chloride resin prepared by the reaction is advantageous in respect of the low initial coloration of the shaped articles there- from even when the polymerization reaction is conducted in the presence of a monomer-soluble polymerization initiator in an amount increased with an object to accelerate the polymerization reaction for improved productivity. The improvement can be achieved by introducing a chain transfer agent such as 2-mercap- toethyl alcohol and n-hexane in an amount of 0.001 to 0.2% by weight of the monomer into the polymerization mixture at a mo- ment when conversion of the monomer into polymer is in the range from 60% to 75%.
