A suspension system for a rear wheel of a multi-wheel vehicle comprises a front structural member (12) that is adapted to be coupled to a seat (26) and a front fork (30). The front structural member has a first pivot point (38) and a second pivot point (42) that is vertically above the first pivot point. A rear structural member (46, 58) is adapted to be operably coupled to an axle (56) of a rear wheel (52). The rear structural member has a third pivot point (50) that is rearward of the first pivot point. A slideable connector (60) is rigidly coupled to the rear structural member and pivotally coupled to the second pivot point. A link member (44) is pivotally linked to the first pivot point of the front structural member and the third pivot point of the rear structural member.

L'invention concerne un système de suspension, destiné à une roue arrière d'un véhicule à plusieurs roues, comprenant un élément de structure avant (12), adapté à recevoir un siège (26) et une fourche avant (30). L'élément de structure avant possède un premier point pivot (38) et un deuxième point pivot (42) situé verticalement au dessus du premier point pivot. Un élément de structure arrière (46, 58) est conçu de façon à être couplé de manière opératoire à un axe (56) d'une roue arrière (52). L'élément de structure arrière possède un troisième point pivot (50) placé en arrière du premier point pivot. Un connecteur coulissant (60) est couplé de manière rigide à l'élément de structure arrière et de manière pivotante au deuxième point pivot. Un élément de liaison (44) permet de réaliser une liaison pivotante entre le premier point pivot de l'élément de structure avant et le troisième point pivot de l'élément de structure arrière.
