ABSTRACT . . . The principal object of the invention is to provide a mounting for eyeglasses, sunglasses, safety glasses and the like which holds the eyeglasses steady in an optimally adjusted position relative to a wearer's eyes. The suspension eyewear assembly (10) of the invention includes a pair of transparent members such as lenses (14) and (16) which are fixedly positioned relative to one another through a center piece (12). A pair of thin flexible suspension lines (18) are connected to two spaced apart points (28) on each lens (14) and (16) and the convergent pairs of suspension lines (18) are received in adjusting devices (20) which are attached to earpiece members (22) and (24). The earpiece members (22) and (24) are adapted for being disposed over and behind the ears of a wearer of the suspension eyewear assembly (10). The length of each suspension line (18) may be individually adjusted in the adjusting device (20) until an optimal positioning of the combined lenses (14) and (16) relative to the wearer' 8 eyes and face is obtained.
