This invention relates to novel suspensions containing (a) 30 to 95 wt.% of water, (b) 70 to 5 wt.% of at least one silane or siloxane having at least two groups corresponding to formula (I) -(CH2)m SiR n X3-n (I) wherein R denotes C1-C18 alkyl and/or C6-C20 aryl, X denotes OH, C1-C4 alkoxy, C6-C20 aryloxy, C1-C6 acyloxy and/or hydrogen, m is 1 to 6, and n is 0 to 2, (c) 0.1 to 30 wt.% of at least one emulsifier, and (d) 0 to 20 wt.% of one or more additives and/or auxiliary substances, with the proviso that the sum of components (a) to (d) totals 100 wt.%. The present invention further relates to the preparation and use of such suspensions.
