A pharmaceutical and/or veterinary formulation for sustained release of a peptide agonist or analogue, comprising about 2-15 % (w/w) of at least one peptide agonist or analogue other than deslorelin (on an active basis), about 0.5-3.5 % (w/w) lecithin and the balance sterin. The formulation preferably comprises a GnRH agonist or analogue and is used for the treatment of various conditions where suppression of sex hormone levels is beneficial, particularly prostate cancer, ovarian and breast cancer, and benign prostatic hyperplasia in dogs.

Une préparation pharmaceutique et/ou vétérinaire à libération prolongée d'un agoniste ou d'un analogue d'un peptide comprend environ 2 à 15 % (en poids) d'au moins un agoniste ou d'un analogue d'un peptide autre que la desloréline (sur une base active), environ 0,5 à 3,5 % (en poids) de lécithol, le solde étant de la stéarine. La préparation comprend, de préférence, un agoniste ou un analogue GnRH et est utilisée pour le traitement de différentes pathologies, dans lesquelles la suppression de niveaux d'hormones sexuelles est bénéfique, particulièrement le cancer de la prostate, le cancer de l'ovaire ou du sein, et l'hyperplasie prostatique chez les chiens.
