A sustained release for comprising ce-lipoic acid or derivatives thereof is described and is characterized in that it consists of (a) at least one cationogenic polymer, (b) .alpha.-lipoic acid or derivatives thereof and (c) at least one acid different form (b). It has surprisingly been found in this connection that, besides controlled release of active ingredient over more than 8 hours and a prolonged GI transit time, there is also faster penetration of the ingredient. Completely unexpectedly, the sustained release form of the invention is additionally associated with an increased bioavailability of .alpha.-lipoic acid and derivatives thereof.
La présente invention concerne une formulation à effet retard contenant de l'acide alpha -lipoïque ou des dérivés de celui-ci. Cette formulation se caractérise en ce qu'elle est constituée (a) d'au moins un polymère cationogène, (b) d'acide alpha -lipoïque ou de dérivés d'acide alpha -lipoïque et (c) d'au moins un acide différent de (b). Dans cette invention, il a été découvert avec surprise que, outre la libération contrôlée de principes actifs sur plus de 8 heures et le temps de transit gastro-intestinal allongé, la pénétration des principes actifs est accélérée. Etonnamment, une plus grande biodisponibilité d'acide alpha -lipoïque et de ses dérivés est également liée à la formulation à effet retard selon cette invention.
