There is presented a suture anchor comprising a head portion and a connector portion. The head portion includes a pointed free end (24), a cutting flute (18) extending substantially throughout the length of the head portion, and screw threads (16) extending substantially throughout the length of the head portion. The connector portion (14) extends axially from the head portion for releasable connection to an anchor inserter (50). The connector portion is provided with structure for attachment of a suture thereto. There is further presented a suture anchor inserter for use in combination with the suture anchor in attachment of the anchor to a bone, and a length of suture material. There is still further presented a method for anchoring a length of suture to a bone.

L'invention concerne une ancre de suture comprenant une tête et un raccord. La tête comporte une extrémité libre pointue (24), une cannelure coupante (18) s'étendant sensiblement sur toute la longueur de la partie tête, et des filetages de vis (16) s'étendant sensiblement sur toute la longueur de ladite partie tête. La partie de raccord (26) s'étendant axialement depuis la partie tête assure l'accouplement libérable à un élément d'insertion (50) d'ancre. La partie raccord présente une structure sur laquelle un fil de suture doit être fixé. L'invention concerne également un élément d'insertion d'ancre de suture destiné à être utilisé conjointement avec ledit élément d'ancrage lors de la fixation de l'ancre à un os, et une longueur de fil de suture. Elle porte aussi sur un procédé d'ancrage d'une longueur d'un fil de suture sur un os.
