A suture securing system adapted to secure a pair of suture ends, comprising a securing mechanism in the form of a spring having a longitudinal axis and a plurality of convolutions; an applier having an axis sized and configured to receive the spring in a co- axial relationship; the applier being axially rotabable to engage the suture ends with the spring and to force the suture ends into a tortuous path through the convolutions of the spring; whereby the spring maintains the suture ends in a generally-fixed relationship.
