ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A swaging die is disclosed for swaging metal sleeves onto concrete-reinforcing bars or wire ropes. The swaging dies are for use in a press and comprise a pair of opposed co-acting high strength metal members. Each member is provided with a longitudinally extending recess having a ribbed portion in which at least two longitudinally extending ribs are upstanding, the ribs are positioned such that when the two metal members are in contact the ribs are equally spaced one from another around the conjoined recesses. The dies provide multi-purpose swaging means thus simplifying the number of dies required for swaging.
