Previously it has been difficult to swage a locking collar to a stud bolt or the like if the bolt was inverted or access for the operator's hands difficult. The tool disclosed provides a chuck 38 to grip a collar regardless of the orientation of the bolt to which it is to be swaged. The tool also provides for the disposal of a broken portion of the bolt produced by the swaging operation, and for an easily replaceable nosepiece.
