An apparatus as provided for swaging a bearing lip into a bearing housing chamfer, which apparatus is operable in confined spaces, such as in an aircraft application. The apparatus is operable without requiring the use of clamps or power tools, wherein an axial swaging force is developed through the bearing bore. The apparatus includes miniature rollers that are supported obliquely for an improved swaging operation.

L'invention vise un appareil servant à emboutir un butoir dans le chanfrein d'un logement de palier et pouvant être utilisé dans des espaces restreints, dans un avion par exemple. Il ne nécessite pas le recours à des pinces ou à des outils mécaniques, où une force axiale d'emboutissage est développée dans l'alésage du palier. L'appareil comporte de petits rouleaux supportés obliquement qui permettent d'améliorer l'opération d'emboutissage.
