- 16 - SWATHER STABILIZER ASSEMBLY ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Pull-type swathers are difficult to stabilize when pulled behind a tractor or the like , primarily due to side draft which exists under these circumstances. This assembly includes a pair of spaced apart pivot brack- ets extending from one side of the main swather hitch bar with heavy duty springs extending therebetween and connect- ed at the front end thereof to the tractor tow bar with a chain and at the rear end, to the secondary hitch bar of the swather, also with a chain. By placing the springs in tension when connecting the swather to the tractor and with the swather and tractor in straight-ahead position, these springs stabilize the swather and assist or relieve the side draft normally present. The tension on the springs is adjustable by adjusting the length of the chain extend- ing between the front bracket and the tractor draw bar.
