ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A shank is provided which is adapted to be held in the tool holder of a lathe. A cylindrical pin extends at right angles from one end of the shank and a cylindrical swedging tool is sup- ported for rotation upon said pin. The outer end of said swedg- ing tool is inwardly chamfered. The end of the tube to be swedged is held in a lathe and is heated whereupon the swedging tool, sup- ported by the tool holder, is engaged against the and so that the rotation of the tube also rotates the swedging tool. Alternative- ly, the tool may be engaged within the end of a heated tube to expand same.
