A sweeping unit which can be affixed to a carrier vehicle or a trailer, comprising a supporting frame (2) and at least one motor-driven rotary brush (1) which is rotationally mounted around the longitudinal axis (3) thereof . The supporting frame (2) is provided with supporting wheels (7, 8), whereby the distance of said wheels from the axis (3) of the rotary brush (1) can be modified by means of an adjusting device comprising at least one hydraulic adjusting roller (5,6) and a control device (9). A feed roller (24) is hydraulically connected to the at least one adjusting roller (5,6), whereby the piston thereof or signalling unit is connected to a metering device and/or distance measurement device (Z). The signal from said metering and/or distance measurement device is switched to the control unit (9). The working area (23) of the feed roller (24) communicates hydraulically with the at least one adjusting roller (5,6) and has a smaller cross-sectional surface area than that of the at least one adjusting roller (5,6). Alternatively, the piston of the feed roller can be connected to a mechanical adjusting drive mechanism.

Le vérin hydraulique (5, 6) est relié de manière hydraulique à un vérin d'alimentation (24) dont le piston ou autre appareil de signalisation se trouve connecté à un dispositif de comptage et/ou de mesure de distance (Z). Le dispositif de comptage et/ou de mesure de distance est connecté à l'appareil de commande (9). La chambre de travail (23) du vérin d'alimentation (24) communiquant de manière hydraulique avec le vérin de réglage au moins possède une surface de section transversale inférieure à celle du vérin de réglage (5, 6) au moins. Alternativement, le piston du vérin d'alimentation peut être en communication avec une commande de réglage mécanique.
