A sweeping unit which can be affixed to a carrier vehicle or a trailer, comprising a supporting frame (2) and at least one motor-driven rotary brush (1) which is rotationally mounted around the longitudinal axis (3) thereof. The supporting frame (2) is provided with supporting wheels (7,8), whereby the vertical distance of said wheels from the axis (3) of the rotary brush (I) can be modified by means of an adjusting device comprising at least one adjusting member (V) and a control unit (9). A sensor (S) is provided for the detection of driving torque or the driving power of the rotary brush (1) or an associated variable, whereby the signal from said sensor is switched to the control unit (9). The control unit (9) determines the working position of the adjusting member (V) corresponding to an optimum contact surface between the brush and the ground as a function of the contact position between the ground and the adjusting member (V), characterized by a sharp increase in said sensor signal when the rotary brush (1) is lowered.

Unité de nettoyage destinée à être montée sur un véhicule de support ou à une remorque, qui comporte un châssis de support (2) et au moins un balai rotatif (1) monté rotatif autour de son axe longitudinal (3) dans le châssis de support et entraîné par un moteur. Le châssis de support (2) possède des roulettes d'appui (7, 8) dont l'écart vertical par rapport à l'axe (3) du balai rotatif (1) peut être modifié à l'aide d'une unité de réglage qui comporte au moins un organe de réglage (V) et un appareil de commande (9). Ladite unité comporte un capteur (S) qui détecte le couple d'entraînement ou la puissance motrice du balai rotatif (1), ou une grandeur associée, le signal produit par le capteur étant couplé à l'appareil de commande (9). L'appareil de commande (9) détermine la position de travail de l'organe de réglage (V) correspondant à la surface de contact optimale entre la brosse et le sol en fonction de la position de mise en contact avec le sol de l'organe de réglage (V), caractérisée lors de l'abaissement du balai rotatif (1) par une montée brusque du signal du capteur.
