Discs for devices such as automatic swimming pool cleaners are disclosed. The disc (10) includes slots (26) (or other suitable apertures) positioned near their rimmed peripheries. The peripheries themselves, moreover, incorporated rounded edges (30) or beads, and both the discs and associated footpads may include ramped segments (50) faciliting movement over obstacles extending from swimming pool surfaces.
