Abstract A swimming pool wall construction, wherein longitudinal sections include flanged edges and are abutted together to form a panel assembly. When the sections are abutted together, the flanged edges form a longitudinal rib. A locking member is received over and engages the formed rib. This prevents separation of the sections. In one embodiment, the combination of the flanged edges and locking members allows limited rotational movement of the sections about the longitudinal axis of the locking member which provides flexibility in the fabrication of the panel assembly. The panel assemblies are abutted end-to-end and secured to vertical support members to form a shell having side and end walls.
