The present invention is directed to a grating for an overflow drainage channel of a swimming pool including a plurality of bars having a passage extending in a transverse direction therethrough, a plurality of spacer elements having an aperture substantially aligned with the passage and positioned between the plurality of bars, and a connecting member extending through the passage of the plurality of bars and the aperture of the plurality of spacer elements securing the plurality of bars and the plurality of spacer elements together.
