ABSTRACT SWITCH-MODE POWER SUPPLY PROTECTIVE CIRCUIT ARRANGEMENT A circuit arrangement for limiting the switch-on current and for providing an over voltage protection in switch-mode power supply devices, comprising an input-end storage capacitor (12) which forms a low-impedance voltage source for a connected current supply arrangement. A current supply device of this type is provided with a circuit which both limits the switch-on current and also ensures a protection against excess voltages across the storage capacitor (12). This is achieved with the assistance of a field-effect transistor (11) arranged between the supply voltage source (1) and the storage capacitor (12) and controlled both by an amplifier for current limitation and by a delay element for delayed switch-on. The current supply device is particularly suitable for plug-in assemblies comprising voltage inverters for the supply of telecommunications transmission equipment. FIGURE 1.
