This invention relates to a switch structure and more particularly to a switch structure for circuit switching of telecommunications signals, such as, but not exclusively, data. A switch arrangement for a Group switch adapted to switch communication signals is provided, the switch arrangement including, a first switching module (SE-1 to SE-N) having at least a first switching element (SE-2) and a second switching element (SE-3); a first communication path (HWH) interconnecting the first and second switching elements (SE-2, SE- 3) a second switching module (SE-N+1 to SE-2N) having at least a third switching element (SE-N+3), and a second communicating path (HWV) interconnecting the second module and first module. The second communication path is provided between modules allowing a distribution of the switching function with a minimum of connections and at the same time providing a switch structure that can be easily scaled up for increased capacity.

Cette invention concerne une structure de commutation et, plus particulièrement, une structure de commutation servant à commuter en circuit des signaux de télécommmunications, tels que, entre autres, des données. L'invention concerne également un dispositif de commutation d'un commutateur de groupe adapté pour commuter des signaux de commmunication. Le dispositif de commutation inclut un premier module de commutation (SE-1 à SE-N) comportant au moins un premier élément de commutation (SE-2) et un deuxième élément de commutation (SE-3); une première voie de communication (HWH) reliant les premier et deuxième éléments de commutation (SE-2, SE-3); un deuxième module de commutation (SE-N+1 à SE-2N) comportant au moins un troisième élément de commutation (SE-N+3); et une deuxième voie de communication (HWV) reliant les premier et deuxième modules. La deuxième voie de communication est ménagée entre des modules pour permettre une répartition de la fonction de commutation avec un minimum de connexions et, en même temps, offrir une structure de commutation pouvant être mise à l'échelle facilement pour en augmenter la capacité.
