A switchgear apparatus 12 comprises contact means biased to an open position by a spring, a loading mechanism of an energy storage means and a kinematic opening and closing system linking the energy storage means, the contact means and the spring. This system is controlled by an opening latch 64 and a closing latch 70. A closing order can only be validly transmitted to the closing latch 70 when the apparatus is in a "ready to close" state, i.e. open, loaded and without a permanent opening order. The switchgear apparatus comprises an indicator 30 with three positions : a "not loaded" position, a "ready to close" position and a third "loaded and not ready to close" or "loaded disengaged" position. This indicator 30 is kinematically linked to the loading mechanism, the opening latch 64, and the contact means.
