ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved static solid switching device is activated by radiant energy when an adjacent flash lamp is flashed. The improved static solid switching devices are used with a multiple flash lamp array having a plurality of lamps fired individually and in sequence. The switching devices are prepared from compositions which include a non-conductive particulate solid to provide improvement in manufacture as well as operation.
