The switching network serves for the transmission of digital data signals within a broadband communication system. This switching network is thereby constructed of individual switching elements (KE) that form at least one multi-stage funnel due to a connection to one another. The section for the assemblies of the switching network is selected such that at least one complete funnel is accommodated on the respective assembly. The respective assembly thereby has its external data inputs provided with unidirectionally designed optical/electrical transducers (OML-E) and has its external data outputs provided with unidirectionally designed electrical/optical transducers (OML-S).

L'invention concerne un système de couplage servant à la transmission de signaux de données numériques à l'intérieur d'un système de communication à large bande. A cet effet, le système de couplage se compose d'éléments de couplage (KE) individuels qui forment entre eux par l'intermédiaire d'une connexion, au moins un cône à plusieurs étages. La section prévue pour les blocs de composants du système de couplage est sélectionnée de manière qu'au moins un cône complet puisse être monté sur chaque bloc de composants. A cet effet, chaque bloc de composants comporte au niveau de ses entrées de données extérieures, des convertisseurs optico-électriques (OML-E) de structure unidirectionnelle, ainsi qu'au niveau de ses sorties de données extérieures, des convertisseurs électrico-optiques (OML-S) de structure unidirectionnelle.
