ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A switching type power supply circuit having a series connection of a switching element and an inductance element con- nected between output terminals of a DC voltage source, a series con- nection of a fly-wheel diode and a detecting resistor connected between the connection point of the switching element and inductance element and the ground, and a capacitor connected between the free ent of the inductance element and the ground, in which when a voltage across the detecting resistor exceeds a predetermined level, the supply of the switching pulse to the switching element is stopped to render the switching element OFF.
