A swivel bracket is described for supporting a fence rail or the like perpendicular to a post member but at a predetermined displacement along a horizontal plane. The bracket includes a support plate for attaching the bracket to the post member and a pair of cooperating grip plates extending outwardly therefrom. Horizontal displacement of the grip plates and supported fence rail is provided by a pivotally securing means between the grip plates and parallel flanges on the support plate.
