The main frame of the swivel child seat is secured to the car seat in the same manner as conventional child seats. The child seat is attached to one side of the frame by two hinges. These hinges have a locking mechanism. When the seat swings open to full capacity it locks in this open position. That way, while the child is being installed in the seat, the said seat stays fixed and does not rotate. After the child is properly positioned or removed, a slight force is then required to push the seat out of the open position and re-attach it in the original closed position, where it locks until someone pulls a cable-release mechanism to unlock it. The child seat rotates on its hinges towards the open car door. The seat can be unlocked from the side closest to the door. The hinges can be placed on either side of the seat so that it can be used on both sides of the car. The conventional child seat is uncomfortable for parents (or others) to work with: to put the child in or remove. Parents (or others) acquire back pain from bending over at an uncomfortable angle. They tend to become lazy and do the job improperly. The conventional process of inserting the child is also uncomfortable for the child. The advance that this invention has to offer is a swivel vs. a stationary seat. In terms of utility, this new child seat is more convenient and easier to use for both the parents and the child.
