ABSTRACT A control device comprising an actuator arm and a plurality of optical switches permits an operation, corresponding to a selected optical switch, to be enabled. In one embodiment of the invention, a slider having an aperture formed therein is moved by means of the actuator arm through the optical switches to permit the initiation, at any one time, of a selected one of the optical switches, thereby enabling the operation associated with the initiated optical switch. In another embodiment of the invention, an actuating arm having a flange extending therefrom causes the interruption, at any one time, of a selected one of a plurality of optical switches.
