Un tel moteur a une inertie rotorique parti- culièrement faible et, au repos, un couple de rappel vers une parmi plusieurs positions d'équilibre stable, ce qui le rend particulièrement apte aux services cycliques et au fonctionne- ment pas à pas. La conception de ce moteur n'entraîne aucune limitation en ce qui concerne sa puissance utile. Il peut être réalisé de manière à tourner lentement, sans adjonction d'un réducteur de vitesse extérieur.
