A synchronous transmission system is disclosed in which the transmission paths (leased lines) extend over several individual transmission systems (Sx). Monitoring devices (NIM) with access to at least one byte of the control data area are provided in synchronous transmission systems to write data into or read data out of the control data area. The monitoring devices (NIM) may thus be controlled and monitored by a signal source (S1).

L'invention a pour objet un système de transmission synchrone dans lequel le parcours de transmission (ligne louée) s'étend sur plusieurs systèmes de transmission individuels (Sx). Dans le système de transmission synchrone sont prévus des appareils de contrôle (NIM) ayant accès à au moins un multiplet du domaine des données de commande, afin de pouvoir ainsi introduire des données dans le domaine des données de commande ou en extraire de ce domaine. De cette façon, les appareils de contrôle (NIM) peuvent être commandés et surveillés par une source de signaux (S1).
