An additive for imparting antiwear properties to a lubricant composition is based on a combination of (1) an organo borate ester composition and (2) one or more sulfur-or phosphorus-containing compounds or a non-sulfur molybdenum compound. The sulfur-or phosphorus-containing compounds are dithiocarbamate, bisditiocarbamate, 1,3,4-diathiazole, phosphoroditioate, phosphoroditioate esters, and the molybdenum compound is prepared by reacting (a) about 1.0 mole of fatty oil having 12 or more atoms (b), about 1.0 to 2.5 moles diethanolamine and (c) a molybdenum source.
L'invention concerne un additif permettant de conférer des propriétés antiusure à une composition lubrifiante. Cet additif est à base d'une combinaison (1) d'une composition d'ester d'organoborate et (2) d'un ou plusieurs composés contenant du soufre ou du phosphore ou d'un composé de molybdène exempt de soufre. Les composés contenant du soufre ou du phosphore sont les suivants : dithiocarbamate, bisditiocarbamate, 1,3,4-diathiazole, phosphoroditioate, esters de phosphoroditioate. Pour préparer le composé de molybdène, on fait réagir (a) environ 1,0 mole d'huile grasse ayant au moins 12 atomes et (b) environ 1,0 à 2,5 moles de diéthanolamine et (c) une source de molybdène.
