2072619 9106304 PCTABS00005 A cyclic pentaborate composition is provided which exhibits immuno-modulatory activity and anti-bacterial in animals including humans. This composition is prepared from a chemical reaction between boric acid and borax (sodium tetra-borate dodecahydrate) in the presence of cytosol fluid obtained from boric acid hypersensitized fungal or microorganism cultures. The cyclic pentaborate compositions of this invention have been useful in enhancing the antibody production in treated animals afflicted with AIDS, pneumonia, osteomyelitis, systemic lupus erythematosus, allergies, asthma, insecticidal intoxication, pre-eclampsia and a variety of other bacterial or viral infectious diseases.
