A B S T R A C T SYNTHESIS OF NUCLEOTIDE AND NUCLEOSIDE DERIVATIVES A method of synthesis of a substituted-amine derivative of a nucleoside or nucleotide wherein the substituent amino group is introduced by a nucleophilic displacement reaction between a sulphone or sulphoxide substituted heterocyclic compound forming or to form the heterocyclic moiety of said derivative and an alpha- amino acid or other reactive amino compound.
